17-year-old me is raising an eyebrow at 32-year-old me while Taking Back Sunday blares through her headphones and she dreams of a bold life free of children and other apparent hindrances.
You have always been looking ahead to see what Christy’s doing! With eagerness and excitement; not envy or blind following. I loved your relationship with each other. Christy, this is one of my favorites yet! Great to see the processing motherhood is showing you of your former self. And introducing you to your new Mom self! It’s such a fun and exciting journey. Love seeing this!
I love the different phases of life in this and I think that’s what it is. When we’re younger we can’t see past that moment in life, when the world is our oyster to discover. We grow away from our own family unit to find our tribe and our people and eventually a mate. Then we create our own family unit and it can be glorious, fulfilling and really far from boring.
Totally on this!! I didn’t want to think about having a family at 16 — I thought it was unfair pressure to constantly hear about making babies before I even had my driver’s license. Rly full-circle that I have a daughter now and can show her the magic of all the options life has for her at ALL stages, and to remind her that one doesn’t replace the other 🫶🏻🩷
Wow as soon as I think I’ve read my favorite of your motherhood posts I read another that cuts right to my heart and is so honest. Joni is incredibly lucky to have you support her dreams and never see her world as small. This one made me cry. ❤️🫶🥹
I was at a party last night (only parent in a room of like a dozen and a half people) and felt like i had to actively remind my self "talk about things other than your kid, other than parenting, than being pregnant and postpartum" and boy is it hard to reconcile with!
I’ve always considered you mighty and never boring! I think you’re cool and have been thinking that since I was able to have my first thoughts 🩷🩷🥰
